I'm thinking of buying a 86 VFR 700. It's not quite what I have been looking for but the price is great. I've been looking for a stock 80's Interceptor that hasn't been "hacked" over. I just found a 700 in the paper for $1200 but it's been painted this ugly color and is missing the lower fairings. The bike started instantly and purrrd like a kitten...Is there any thing that was known to go bad on these bikes I should look for ? it has 14k but I don't see any leaks of any kind...I doesn't look like it's been downed. On thursday my motorcycle guru "cousin who at the presant has 4 bikes" is going to come down and check it out.
thanks for any info or input.

    VFaustR,
I had the pleasure of owning and 86' and man did it run! I think it had about 30k on it when I bought it and it never gave out on me. You just can't beat the reliability of the V-4 motor. If it runs as you said it does, pick it up and enjoy the ride. Good Luck.
