So, reading some posts today, got me to thinking (thought you smelled smoke didn'tchya?)...

I have a name for my two trucks (2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road: "Helga", and my new 2009 Dodge 2500HD Diesel 4x4: "Babe", as in Paul Bunyan's big blue ox), but I've never thought of a good name for my bike... While I love it, I haven't gotten that "vibe" I usually get, that helps me choose a name.

(EDIT: Though, while typing this, I started thinking about "Cap", as is short for Captain America, due to it's colors... We'll see if that feels right next time I ride it. Usually I refer to my vehicles as "her", so I usually go with a female name; so don't know if "Cap" will work or not...)

So, what is the name you have given your Viffer?

I have an 06 Dodge Ram 4x4. Then I purchased the 08 VFR. Both of them are the same gray. I call the Dodge, "The Beast" because of its power and pull. The VFR I call "The Ghost" because of its speed.

The 1985 was named "Sheila" after the talking tank in the (un)popular series red vs blue.

The 1990 is named Melissa. I am a Mercyful fate / King Diamond fan.

My 1995 wrangler is named "Hellbender" after the assault vehicle in the game Unreal Tournament 2004.

Lumping it all together in one page really makes me look like a dork.

Oh well, when your PC breaks who ya gonna call?

I haven't named mine yet -- the "right name" just hasn't materialized yet.

I can tell you, though, that Mrs was quite unhappy with the idea of me giving my VFR an actual "female" name. I suggested Jessica (as in, Jessica Rabbit -- a hot redhead). Quoting Mrs: "I don't want you talking about riding on some other girl!" She was really unhappy when I suggested "Naomi."

The Viffer's name is Soichiro. Soichiro Honda. Corney I know, but my F-100's name is Henry Ford. At least I'm consistent.

I name everything "George". The bikes, the kids, the cars, my fish and dog. It's easy to remember. I haven't quite convinced my wife she should change her name yet.

My wife thinks that my bike naming is funny! She used to get confused about which bike was which until I named them. Now there is no confusion when she asks which bike I am taking on my weekend rides.

My RWB 07 is named "ZUES"

My wrecked 93 is named "PEARL"

My new to me 93 is named "LUCY"

    Regards,
    Rollin

Because of the obsession that I have with my VFR, I have taken the name from the book/movie "The Hobbit". I refer to my bike as, "Precious".
In the book, Precious was a ring with powers. Anyone that saw the ring was obsessed with wanting to have it in their possession.
As was the bike when I 1st saw it on the showroom floor.

Great looking paint job..... It brings to mind a military truck that was used to move money( our base finance truck )..... This was over in Thailand, where money is called "Baht" by the thai's.... So it had a bat painted on the side and written below it,it said "BAHT MOBILE"....... (40 years ago)
