Where can I find some of these ??? I don't even know what they're called.

    2014-04-09_15-37-59_111.jpg

    They go to a '86 750 [& others I'm sure]
They go into the fairings to hold on the headlight & and on the side fairings to hold on the air dams
I tried the nut & bolt place next to my shop but no go. Ya think maybe a auto body supply ?? A paint store ?? Home Depot ??

I repaired the tabs with Plastex and was wondering if anyone had any luck with drilling & taping ?? If I can't locate any of those do-dads.
If I do tap new threads I'm wondering if the screw will strip out over time since it would just be the plastic holding the headlight on.

I am looking at this on my phone so the image is not the best. Is there supposed to be rubber surrounding that brass? If so, it looks like it may be a well nut. They are available at Home Depot but I have found that theirs fit loose and are a pain. I will be going back to OEM for mine.

Thanks guy's. Knew I could count on ya.

Randy, No they don't have plastic around them per-say. they are inserted into the tabs that hole the headlight on. I will be drilling out the new holes so maybe the one at Home Depot will work. I was wanting to buy them locally in order to move this refurb along. But also want to do it right so if I have to order them from the web that DfnsMn69 recommended I will.

The OEM well nuts are about $4/ea I know Home Depot should carry them. But the second site I posted has them for .60/ea and is a good enough deal that I have about 20 extra on hand. As far as the nutserts go take a look at the parts breakdown here it shows them. Good luck with the search.

Yep, well-nuts is wut they calll them. I have used them on some custom applications such as, steering dampeners and rear swing arm spools for race bikes. It is a one time application as when you torque down the nut, there are teeth that get torqued to the "hole" that your inserting it in, a little Freudian here; butt you get the picture, if not, google it, I am sure you will then.
