Which mono shocks can be adapted to fit a 1982 VF750S ?

Hi All

Greetings and I hope someone can help me !

I have a 'new' 1982 VF750S on the way to me and the only part that needs some attention apparently is the rear shock. I read somewhere that a CBR600 mono shock can be adapted to fit.

Has anyone done this or any other suggestions much appreciated ?
Looking for the option that improves handling as much as possible rather than just the lowest budget option.
