Thanks for that link Stosh, those are really cool:cool: do the front turn indicators stay illuminated white and then flash amber when used as turn indicators?

I suspect that these assemblies that Stosh, JFDR, and skimad4X4 have attached a link for, have been designed with a reflector inside that has been made to make optimum use of how the LED lights reflect that light. I have read where some believe the reflector backing in the stock assembly is not great for LED. I have replaced my two tail light bulbs only with multi directional LED bulbs and I think they are OK.

Personally, I think the best way to gowould be to get one of these kits from overseas. I have not heard or read any complaints about them, although they are a little pricey.

SO there you have it. A few options to consider. If you get them, post up pix of how they turned out and let us know what you think.

Nope. The LED bulbs that I've got are Amber for both marker and turn signal functions.

Hmmm.....you know now that you've got me thinkin' it might be kinda cool if the front LED's actually did that though.

Whoo boy I hate to say it John but you're starting to remind me of my buddy Pez because every time he gets a cool idea it always ends up costing me money.

Mine didn't Hwyrogue,I paid extra for it.

Truth is you can wire in your own resistor to slow the flasher function down but I hate to just cobble anything together on my bike.

The Thurn flasher relay is plug and play which makes for a simple tidy install.

I finally found the perfect LED bulb for our taillights. I have spent a small fortune over the years searching for quality LED bulbs, and these are by far the best I have found...http://www.amazon.com/Putco-237443R-360-360-Degree-Premium-Replacement/dp/B001FCPZLG.

I think part of what makes them look so good is the reflector and especially the lens of our taillights. It spreads the light out perfectly, just like a stock bulb, but it's brighter in both tail and brake. I've had them for 2 years now and they've worked flawlessly. Yes, they're a bit pricey at $40/pair, but I think it's worth it to never have to change them again.

Those are the crappy led's ive seen someone else have. The lumen output isnt enough to deem safe for me in daytime use. I went with the tried and true 13 watt LED from this seller: http://www.wardenjp.com/ Ive used that guy reliably for 8 years now for led stuff and you know what? I still have his old version of this LED from 6 years ago and it still works.

Thank you sir for pointing me in the right direction. Dayum those tail lights are a little pricy, i guess it will have to wait a little bit before i can splurge on that.

They certainly aren't crappy on my bike...keep in mind, there are tons of different brands out there that use this design. These Putco's seem to be much better quality than most others. I have parked my bike next to a friend's VFR with stock bulbs and compared the tail and brake from multiple distances. Mine was noticeably brighter and deeper red for both tail and brake. Trust me, I would never use an LED bulb if it wasn't a true improvement over a filament bulb. The first thing I do when I get a new one is to install just one and compare it to the other stock bulb (car/bike, doesn't matter). I have a pile of LED bulbs sitting on the shelf that didn't measure up.

The thing is your led is a smd type, the ones i have are like the ones Cree uses which has far more lumens (which is why it doesnt need as many led per unit). We should some day compared the units you have vs what i have, the ones i had work very well in the factory housings, im just looking for a true led tail replacement but it appears they are somewhat expensive at this time.

Of course the only thing without color on Stosh's bike is the taillights and turn signals.
