So today i went on a charity ride for autism and there just so happen to be another VFR in the group that i rode 3 bikes back from at one point, i tried to talk to the guy but he was spanish and didnt speak any english.. anyways he had an 2006 vfr800 and the thing sounded way more gnarly then my two brothers exhaust, when we got to the event i noticed he had just taken the comple exhaust off from the cat back and stuck on what appeared to me a slip in angle tip from like the parts store so it angled backwards more... that thing just sounded bad ass idling and running through the gears, it was surprisingly nearly just as loud as my bike when just cruising in higher gears at 50mph and such.. i just absolutely loved the lopey cam type idle with the no muffler.... i would have take a video of it but my phone died on me early in the day, when my phone is in the ram mount if it holds down the volume button it will drain the battery in no time attempting to lower the volume over the course of the entire ride... wish the volume rocker wasnt at the location near the ram leg...

    Did SOW change his name?

I understand the phone thing. My old smaller Galaxy 2 didn't fit my RamMount X-Grip. Got the MotoG3 and all is well. My 5th is loud with the TBR slipon and the Delkevic header. I can't imagine it uncorked, but I have no cat. I ran my 6th for a couple of minutes with no muffler, but it was really loud.

i think it still had the cat, because the bulge was still down there... so it was just headers and cat.. it was honestly all that loud except at lower rpms it seemed, reving it made it louder than it was when actually driving it

So. Because it had a bulge down there, you figure it still had a cat. Maybe it was actually anticipating a pussie.

I bought my 6th gen with a leo vance titanium exhaust and the previous owner had removed the cat. I took off the exhaust so it was straight uncorked, headers out to fresh air. it was unbearably loud BUT it sounded BAD ASS. It was like a boat or a dragster or something, it was awesome. Even through my GT Air helmet at medium revs it was ear splitting. I ran it that way for just a quick 10 minute ride and long enough to shoot a video. I was also told that running an uncorked exhaust like that can cause your exhaust manifold to warp because cold air gets up the pipes when you're idling or shifting etc. when the pressure drops in the pipe it sucks cold air in. If it wasn't ear splittingly loud then he still had a cat on though. It would be very apparent if he were running sans cat.

Here is mine with no cat:

I used to live in the USA, but then I moved to California. The 99 didn't have a cat and I bought it that way, so...

Trust me when I say that you are the only one that does not want to beat to death someone that runs an open exhaust.

I do it from time to time just to out obnoxious the doods puttering around needlessly revving their retirement savings. Its fun letting them know what 11000 rpm sounds like lol. The rest of the time I consider getting a stock pipe so my neighbors dont have to listen to a carbon D&D at 5am every day
