Hello guys/Gals new guy here to VFRW and learned so much @ my newly aquired 94 VFR. Ive qwned 73 motorcycles and LOVE this bike . Anyway , I just installed a new Ricks 00 R1 r/r and upgraded wires with 12 guage. Well im paranoid my 90watt FirstGear jacket (w/temp control) will fry it or just not handle the added power draw. Keep in mind i live in Vegas and ride every day 365 (7 yrs no car!!!!!) Whaddya"s think??

I think you are nutz. A heated vest in Vegas???????I am having no problems at all wearing Gerbings Jacket liner....and pant liner....and insoles....on a two day long trip to, and two day lng trip from, which were 10 hours a day in the saddle. But mine is an 06 so I can't say what the difference would be that way as far as your r/r goes.

    pix....pix....pix.....pix......get it?

    BTW. Welcome

My last bike was a 97 VFR and I enjoyed many a chilly late and early season ride (like Randy I live in southern BC and riding between October and March can get quite cold) while wearing a heated vest and pants. I had replaced the stock R/R with the upgraded Honda unit. The wires for the heated vest were run directly off the battery and I never had a problem in the seven years I owned the bike. I'm not sure how much the wattage was on my vest but it did not have a temperature control just an on/off switch.
