Yeah, not close to winter yet where I live, but I have to run any and all future purchases through the finance manager (aka The Wife). So here is a list of what I'm thinking of doing when I have some down down this winter:

    Change oil
    Change coolant
    Change clutch line fluid
    change brake fluid/bleed brakes
    Change plugs
    PAIR mod

    Possibly:
    New chain
New rear sprocket: +2 from what I have been reading on the forums

Anything you guys spot that I might be missing? Any cheap/free mods I may have missed?

Speedo healer to go with that sprocket. If you change the chain, change both sprockets. Otherwise your chain will wear out much faster.

Is the front sprocket a PITA to get off?
Speedo healr - I think the calculations are posted up to figure the difference in speed. Eventually I will probably get one, but short term, probably not worried too much about it.

Front looks easier to take off then the rear.

I tried goin one down on my front sprocket one tooth and to be honest I could barely tell a difference other than my speedo being all messed up. I put the stock front back on and just rev it out a little further in each gear. Maybe if you went two up on the. Rear and one down on the front it would be more noticeable. But I think the vfr has such a broad powerband already its not really needed. Just my .02 cents

Ok, well, I went with the stock rear sprocket size. Got a DID chain, SuperLite steel rear sprocket, and a JT front sprocket. Then I cleaned up the swingarm, and surrounding areas. HUGE difference!

Before, after I had taken all the old stuff off:

    Yeah, my chain was toast:

And after, I even cleaned up the stock shock, LOL:

I used the Harbor Freight chain breaker tool to install the chain. Worked really well, for a $15 tool.

Also, changed my spark plugs... is it normal for VFR plugs to look like this? I really have no clue as to how old they were.

The swingarm looks very nice after the cleaning.. How many miles on the spark plug? The tip appears to be very thin..

Like I said, I really have no clue. I replaced them with fresh plugs, and they have exactly 0 miles on them. LOL

As for the swingarm, thanks. I used some Melaleuca product my wife said to use - can't remember the name off the top of my head. Cut through the grease like it was no ones business. Between that and not really having to worry about any harsh chemicals, made me a happy camper.
