I did a search, and nothing. So how do you wire up front flush mount turn signals with a single (2 wire) filament bulb and still have turn and running lights? I'm sure there is a way to have running lights and then a on-off-on-off flash for turning.

    So, how is it done?

It can be done, but I can't think of a way it can be done easily. The problem is that the running lights are going to keep the lamp on all the time. When the flasher tries to turn them on for turn signals nothing is going to happen because they are already on and it can't turn them off. What you're going to have to do is force them to turn OFF for a timed portion during turn signal use, and the only way I can think of to do that is with a logic circuit. Since they are typically 5 volt devices you'll have to regulate the voltages or they will smoke. They also won't handle the current of the lamps so you'll need a relay for each side. Suffice it to say you'd be a whole lot better off with some two filament lamps.

Keep in mind that I said "the only way I can think of". It's quite possible that there is something that will do that off-the-shelf, but I don't know what it is. I haven't kept up with electronics much for the last few decades ;) If you come up with a simple answer I'd be interested to know what it is.

I saw the wiring diagram in the Clymers manual, and the non-US spec bikes had single filament lights on the front, but I don't know what flasher system they used. Maybe a VFR rider outside the US might be able to help???
