    Hi all,

After my second service @ 2k km the technicians asked me to choose the air filter for the next service ( @ 6k km). I need to choose between stock and K&N air filters.
My interest is to keep my engine clean. I don't need more power... The bike has enought.
What do you recommend me? Is k&n a safe choice?

At the moment, I recommend the Piper cross, just because I can.

Gota chuclke a bit here, only because I'm sure others will say Stock is fine, and probably not all that bad a way to go when you add in you're not looking for a performance up grade, so yea I might be able to be convinced that may be the way to go. But I had a KN, loved it, worked great, never a problem 12+ years too, then I tried out a Piper cross, I like the build, It made sense in what they had in mind, more filter media, has it flow more O2, even though your not looking for gains, that a side benefit, it's a great quality built filter that's reusable like the KN. It's oiled foam vs, pleated paper. just throwing it out there.

The only concern I have is the amount of dust In my engine. I leave in Bucharest - Romania. Trust me there is no worse dusty place then this in Europe. Will check piper cross filters. Thx for the reply & suggestion.

OE when it comes to relatively modern consumables. Actual data (lots out there, look it up) on OE pleated paper filters vs. the foams (Pipercross) and gauze (K&N etc.) mostly indicate stock air filters are superior for filtration, and of course optimized for flow. Here's one: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest1.htm

Most of the greatest engine builders today--Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, etc. use paper medium for good reasons.

OEM. Honda might know what they're doing. We bought one for some reason.

I was reading the previous post link and test is quite relevant. Will stay with the oem. There is for sure a small flow gain with k&n but I'm not willing to distroy my engine just for a better sound . I'll have the new akrapovic exost for this. Thx everyone for the advices.
