Can anyone tell me the location of the little plate with the engine number?

I just moved to California and to complete vehicle registration, they require the engine number in addition to the VIN number. I've seen threads that disclose where this number is located on other generations but they've so far been unhelpful for finding the engine number on my 5th gen. Can anyone please point me to it?

Sorry if this has been covered. I searched and searched...

Hahaha! That's what I thought and what I put on the form. After waiting in line in the hot sun for an hour, the chick at the DMV said that couldn't be right because it was too short.

Thanks. Maybe I'll print that and show her.

    Sorry, that really sucks!

DMV = You're gonna have a bad time

Seems I often hear a new unbelievable story about those places.

I have to go to the DMV myself early this Saturday after working an full 3rd shift Friday night.
Practically have to wake up in the middle of my night to deal with their shizz mistake since I also work full-time durig the week.

Hope you have better luck when you go back.

    Yeah, thanks.

The first time I went to the DMV, I was there for 7.5 hours and waited in lines 11 times. The second time, I stood around in the hot sun to have her tell me the engine serial wasn't the engine serial. I had to hurry out to get to work and didn't have time to argue.

I know I have to go back at very least two more times (VIN registration for my VFR and for my DRZ). I really, really, really wish I didn't have to go back.

Have you tried making an appointment? Sometimes it can help... a little...
