I recently had the erion headers coated in the ceramic metallic coating. It is sprayed onto and into the headers and baked at 500celcius.This stuff works.IT cost me 200bucks.The biggest gain is off or even at idle torque which is significantly improved. This makes for a much easier bike to get off the mark with much less clutch slippage.Roundabouts can be taken in 1st or 2nd with no clutch and a little rear brake down at 2000rpm.What the coating does is retain the exhaust gas temperature better. As the gases cool they slow down causing a traffic jam in the exhaust causing greater back pressure and less scavenge effect.I suppose at low revs the gases have less momentum than higher revs so the effect is more noticeable. Also a 1-2hp gain is more noticeable when your making 10hp compared to when your making 110hp.This mod with the staintune pipe has significantly improved the off idle torque making for a much easier bike to ride.
