Anyone had the balls to attempt a custom fab GP exhaust on a VFR 800? Am I the only lunatic who thinks it might be possible (not to mention really cool) ?

No, though have thought an '08 R6 stubby would work ok on the Gen 5, why not try it out and post some pics so I can see if it looks good.

Just prior to installing a set of Microns on my 6 gen, my buddy remarked that a stubby would look fantastic. I agree. Having a cat., the noise level should be somewhat reasonable. A new tailsection would have to me fabricated for 6 gens though.
Let me know if you find anyone who has this setup on a 05 gen or other !

I had the exact same plans for my 5th gen VFR800, but then i ended up using it for my SV650!

I am thinking more like an FZ1 exhaust on the VFR, as my second option!

I think Toro did this on his supercharged 5th gen. He had a cool looking stubby megaphone setup made that sounds great. There's links on his thread that have pics and sound clips.

The can on that SV looks really good.

I recently did it with my Superhawk. Chopped the can part off the stockers and welded some baffles in. The pipe expands with a perforated core so it was the perfect candidate for mods.

Titanium- I have an addiction. That's why. I don't drive a Lexus like you. I collect bikes.

Those pipes are actually quieter than cans I think. Its pretty well stopped up. I actually had to drill some holes to let more out. Feels like it gained more low end but sacrificed some top. Thinking about painting them black too to get rid of the raw finish before they rust.
