Been registered for a while so I figured might as well post. New rider in the scheme of things, but the Viffer is my 3rd bike in the stable. Started out on a Honda Hawk NT650, got a Transalp, and now have a 98 VFR800. Become a bit of a Honda fan at this point (all are red, even my cage is a red Honda!), and the VFR is pretty damn perfect for what I want. Bought it from the original owner with about 7400 miles back in May, and now she's almost at 20,000. I very well intend to have her for 100,000 miles plus. Currently in Southern California, but I'm looking to move up North to Santa Cruz, Bay Area before too long.

Done a few mods which include:
    HEL steel braided lines
    Daughtery Rear shock
    Givi windscreen
    Mivv slip-on exhaust
Aftermarket reg/rec (on my second already)
Oxford Heated grips (best motorcycle accessory ever IMO)
    Voltmeter for obvious reasons.

I've got some speed bleeders, but have been lazy to add them on, and in the future I would like to add a Corbin seat and the ability for hard luggage. And a Staintune exhaust! Mivv sounds awesome, but having a staintune on the transalp stirs many feeling and 'emotions' in me, ergo having one on the Viffer would be pretty cool.
Oh, and her name is Aurora.

P.S. Hope the picture of her comes out. I'm pretty new/ stupid when it comes to forums so if I'm doing it wrong please let me know.

Hello and welcome to the madness! Your girl sure does bring back memories. :( I had my '98 until earlier this year. Ole girl had 132+k on her and still purring. Nice work on providing mod details along the required pic!

Let me know you make up it up to norcal as I am in SF area. Moved up from SoCal (SD, along with a stint in OC) almost two years ago.

    Welcome!

Don't miss out on our great local roads. Palomar mountain, ACH, Idyllwild, Hwy 33, Ortega, GMR/Crystal Lake, etc.

I'll be out on the '14 tomorrow. Still have my 98 tucked away :D

Thanks everyone! Yeah, So Cal has some pretty awesome roads; enjoy Ortega and Palomar quite a bit. Definitely got to explore it all before making a permanent move up North.
