    Hi Guys,

This is my first post so please be gentle. Bought my brand new 2012 VFR800 last year in Australia (yes, it was built in 2012) and thinking about getting some mods like Sargent seat, PC V, ZG Double Bubble and etc however all of the sites I've been to don't list 2012 VFR so is it safe to consider that my bike a 2002-2009 model? Once again sorry if this is a lame question. Thank you!

You say it was built in 2012? Just out of curiosity, is that what the frame says or the title?

Your first post and you didn't even post a pic?! How do we know you're not making this 2012 model up? Here in the states, they stopped selling them in '09!

    Cheers!

Thanks guys! Yes it was a brand new black and white VFR800 with 3 kms on the clock when I bought it last year. There's a stamp with "4/12" on the frame near the VIN number so I assume it was built in April 2012.
My biggest concern is that I don't want to spend 1-2K on mods and have the shipped from US just to realize that they won't fit my bike.
    Thank you!

Technically it's the same as the 2006-2009 model, as they updated a few things then, different vtec setting etc. They may well have made other changes for 2010, as Honda list them as another small model change, but I don't know what they changed.

BTW, the B&W models are some of the nicest looking, but how would we know, we hardly get to see them (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

My mistake - I wasn't paying attention to the Australia part. I was afraid he had a bike with a new frame that was titled as a 2012. I believe someone on here has that "problem". Causes headaches when it comes time to license it every year!

It's 6am over here and family is still in bed, I need to take it out of the garage to make pics and I my boss would kill me for that ;) I'll post some pics later today
I'm thinking of Sargent seat, ZG double bubble and PC V but it's still unclear whether they will fit my bike or not.
I guess seat and and ZG should fit, however not sure about PC V as I may not be able find proper map for it and I don't want to pay 1K to local shop to have it fitted and tuned :(

PS. Oh, btw mine doesn't have ABS - they don't sell them with ABS over here.

There are a few AUS members here that might be willing to let you check out their 6 Gen for the physical items i.e. Seat, windscreen and I doubt there would be too much changed on the '10+ models engine wise that wouls inhibit the PCV from working. My understanding is that they will even fit on the 5 Gen and since they're "tunable" I don't see there being too much of an issue of making it work for your '12, unless the ECU connector has changed. Oh yeah, and my "boss" wouldn't care too much if I woke her up just to take some pics for the "guys"!

    Cheers!

So wait. You're telling me they still make the VFR800, the perfect sized sport touring bike, and they still make it in my favorite color combo, but they just won't ship it to the US? GAAAR!

I had to ask, as you guys still get the VFR800! Didn't know what other luxuries Honda might be giving you guys down under! Lucky bastards! Well, in case I forgot to say it, Congratulations on your new ride!, definitely wish we had that color scheme choice here, not that I would trade my black beauty for it, just would be nice to see other options. The VFR is one of the only bikes IMO that look really good in white!

    Cheers!
