Did the mods and now my bike has a terrible stumble off idle when I crack it wide open. This is the OPPOSITE of what it's supposed to accomplish.....

Go through what you did and maybe someone can tell if you did something wrong, or didn't do something that should have been done.

Pulled snorkel off. Un hooked pair valve and capped tube and valve with tight fitting rubber cap

I did not notice ANY change when I took the PAIR valve out, and unless your 5G has a different EFI system to my 99, I can't see why you should. PAIR is only bleeding fresh air into the exhaust after it exits the motor, so can't affect combustion in the cylinders in any way. I only did it to remove excess plumbing. If you have the airbox plugged, and the pair valves properly capped off, then you're done.

For the flapper, I'm not a believer that this adds anything except intake noise. You do need to make sure the end of the vacuum line is plugged otherwise you will have an uncontrolled vacuum leak.

The FI system has to have all of the correct inputs from sensors otherwise it will run poorly (I guess a version of limp-home mode). If you get a flashing FI light, you may have forgotten to connect something; I did this once, forgot to reconnect the MAP sensor hose.

Just rode the bike on a actual ride for the first time. It seems fine for the most part but damn it's noisy!!! I feel like I can hear all kinds of gremlins now ha ha. My imagination is gonna destroy me!

What made you think doing these (nonsensical) mods was going to make the engine run better?

There are numerous threads on here with people saying it will eliminate the flat spot. Thought it was worth a shot. Seems to run the same really just louder
