Seems my 2002 vfr is running hot. 107-108 celsius in town, fan always on until i get a decent moving speed to get air. This winter saw a little puddle prestone under bike, at oil change they said everything was ok. Where is cap to check prestone? Bike has little prestone sweet smell at times but no drops on floor. Thanks for replies.

    They always run hot..

I have had 112 show up in town but fan was going mad & it didn't look like it was going over that. In normal open road it sits between 79 & 86

My fan starts at 104° celsius and when it cools down stops at 96. The other temp is a sensor on the oil rad after a long ride on a 35° Ambient temp for comparison purposes after reading a pal on the forum killed his engine due to a dirty oil rad and using 20W50 oil.

radiator cap is behind right side fairing side panel, you have to remove it to see cap.on my gen 5 the overflow tank can be seen by looking thru the opening on the lower left side fairing.gen 6 should be similar.

Top up the cooling system under the rad cap when engine is cool, not just the res bottle. Be sure the cap is twisted to fully seal and against its stops.
