Due to winter I had some time to do some modifications to the bike. Riding time is somewhat limited due to the weather and gritted roads. I already had the carbon triple tree cover and decided to get a matching carbon instrument panel for it. This is how it looks: I finally had to replace my tires (at least the front one, but decided to replace both) and used the opportunity to have my rims painted. I bought a 8 spoke rim a while ago, but never did anything with it. I was hesitating between powder coating and painting. Finally decided to have them painted, because I wanted to have them blue, like the blue of the bike. They couldn't match the blue with powder coating so painting it was. I just picked up the rims with the new tires (Bridgestone BT023's). Didn't have time to put them back on yet. Here are the wheels: Need to mount the rotors back on the front and finally put the wheels back on the bike. Here's the bike 2 weeks ago when I took it out for a ride in the hills on a good day: Tomorrow I'm going on a trail ride with my son, so no working on the VFR, but Sunday back to business and finish the bike and hoping for good weather
Looks awesome. Get pics up as soon you can when you get your wheels back on. The blue wheels are definitely different.
Put the wheels back on the bike today. Front Rear Total view Does anybody know if/where you could get the honda decals on the side fairing in yellow to match the logo on the tank. I always wondered why they didn't match those 2 (either both silver or both yellow). I did a quick impression in photoshop and it doesn't look too bad I think.
I replaced the plastic factory seat cover for a leather one . I guess the leather stretched a bit because it got more loose. Need to tighten it again (or have a couple of rides in the rain to have it shrink a bit)
Thanks. I had a quick look but had no luck. You need to select a specific model to see the parts. Couldn't find any yellow letters for the VFR models. Any idea what Honda models had yellow lettering?
All it lists are Candy/Glory Red: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/2007/VFR800+AC/MARK+(06-08)/parts.html It SHOWS the big yellow HONDA in the diagram but doesn't list it under the parts (14/15)...?
The tree cover is the genuine Honda one, it was already on the bike when I bought it. I tried to find the matching original Honda dash but never found one. I ended up with one from Carbon Fiber Racing. They make all kind of CF parts for the VFR (and other bikes). It's not an overlay like the original one but a complete dash to replace the oem one. Price was around $100 for the dash. I got the CF/Fiberglass one. You can also have a 100% CF one but it's a bit more expensive.
