I got my 06 in 06. Traded in my 95 900RR (got $3300 for it), threw in saddle bags at their cost (almost $400 off) tank bra for free, Ohlins steering dampener at their cost, 10% discount on anything bought there for the next year, and should of gotten the braided brak lines but couldn't find a pair where it wasn't a create your own. OTD for about $7K.

You can always ask the dealer to throw in items at their cost like I did. They aren't out anything, and you can get some excellent deals as well.

They didn't have to do anything to my old bike & it was gone in a week for about $4k.

    Thanks for the reply!

I am now leaning very much to buying a used 2004 (red, 2000 miles) versus a new 07 RWB for 7600.

I am going to St Louis to look at it, but I really need some help on what to look for.

Are there any issues that I should specifically look for on a 04 VFR? The wiring harness has been changed.

What about the vtec engagement? seems I heard there were issues w/ these but resolved sometime in 04. Is there a build date I should look for?

    thanks!

    Finally pulled the trigger

Ok, finally pulled the trigger an bought a pretty immaculate 2004 for $4995.

Still like the RWB, but this is the first street bike in a while and was worried about dropping.

Anyway, the 04, is pretty much like new and man do I like this VFR, only wish I could afford some exhaust.

Thanks for all the help from everyone, I really appreciate, it.

Here's a couple of pics let me know what you think!:

I think I'm going overboard on the riding, I've only had my 02 vfr for about a month and I put just over 3900 miles on it already!! She's almost at 10k miles soon and I got it with just over 5200 miles on it.

Man, these bikes are getting so low, I'm seriously contemplating joining someone else on here who said they'd buy a second as a backup...

Guys, when you quote what you paid try to be consistent, i.e., quote the

OTD (Out The Door) price. You will find that sometimes the super low prices

sound great but then you will find some low-ball dealers will pump up the "freight"

    and "set-up" charges.

Let's hear how much you paid for those two things.

    Carry on ~

    Check Ebay.

I just purchased a new RWB ABS for 8200 (9000 otd with factory hard bags) and there were several new RWB for 7300 and candy apple red for 6900. All on Ebay

Sunrise Honda in Searcy, Arkansas is where I got mine.

Steve in Russellville Arkansas 1866 466 3219 had the RWB for 7300ish.

Dave Burke in Denver Colorado 303-287-7566 had RWB for 7000ish and ABS for 7500ish

No connections to any of the above except I'm buying from the dealer in Searcy. They are just people I called trying to get the best deal.

I just bought a brand-new non-ABS '07 RWB locally in the SF Bay area for $8k plus tax and tags. (Still waiting for it to come in). All of the low-ball deals I saw on eBay were back east, and shipping was going to be $600 so I think I did well. I'm not sure why all of the low ball deals were east of the Mississippi???

The dealer said that there were only two RWB left in the warehouse, but that might be some west coast warehouse only, or it could have just been BS.

Since I had an '83 VF750 and an'86 VFR750, I had to get the RWB model. (Plus I like the way it looks compared to the solid color bikes - it looks lighter and smaller to my eye than the solid colors)

toecutter, I love the pix of the '86 and '07 side by site!

    to clear things up....

I work for a Honda dealer.

There are no more Red 2007's at wearhouse, but about 40 RWB 07

Dealers have received an invoice reduction, reason being the low prices. This reduction is also reflected on VFR 07s that were already on floorplan.

I dont want to get into what they cost the dealer, but if you get red for $6800 to $7300 plus tax and destination. or RWB for $7300 to $7800 +++ then you are getting a nice deal. (add $1000 for ABS to each price)

    Hope this helps you all

Man, with those prices, I wish I lived in the US. This side of the pond they go for €11,000+ (++ with ABS and hard bags) with maybe a few hundred less for 08's (OK, we have VAT at @20% or so, but still). At $7,000 new there would be lines outside showrooms :pout:
