while rebuilding the carbs on my 86 vfr750, 2 of the pilot screws decided that they were going to break off inside the carb --- fun fun... got them out, but now i cant find anything online to replace them... keyster only sells a gasket kit- honda microfiche does not even list the dern thing. I'm running out of options. Just hoping this isnt going to result in new carbs...bah.

Why do you need the caps?

Actually, the caps make the screw much easier to turn...after the float bowls are switched.

Without the cap you have a very narrow brass screw head that is easily damaged and seems io chip away a little everytime a screwdriver touches it.

I'm working on an 83 Goldwing for a friend. He bought carb kits which include the idle screws. They were on ebay I think and were cheap. So far looking in the kits they have just about everything you can think of. Jets(2), needle, idle screw, correct gaskets and what ever else. I think he paid $50 apiece for them. If you want I could find out who the seller is.

thanks for the great response everybody, i actually did order a kit that was for the goidwing... cross referencing the honda part number that i got from a local bike shop that had the part listed with limiter caps. Couldnt get the limiter caps but it will do. The limiter caps actually help in adjustment ....aaaand so that when you're high tailing it down the road, the adjustment can't get out more than a 1/4 turn if you adjust them properly and haven't broke the dern tab off of the bowl of the carb (which was done to my bike). Also wanted to comment that i got a ton of good info from this forum and i really appreciate it. The thread about the removal of the fuel pump saved me some money and got me riding faster!

FYI .... do not buy yzf 450 pilot adjustment screws to install on anything other than a yzf 450. (they look similar but they are different on the tip) I found out the hard way.
