Yeah, I am way off. I had not even had any ale yet, LOL.

Also...that bike went for $3200.oo USD? That is insane. Does BAT get 50% of the sale price? That moto didn't even have the correct RED seat.

    Everything is insane these days.

Hell yeah straycat. Jim, whenever you are ready and need any measurements for placement, let me know. I'm gonna hold off snaking the 86 out of it's spot then for now.

Thank you Cap'n. I will take you up on that.

Right now I am working on researching the paint codes for the BLUE section of the tank and fairing and finding no information. The posts I have found say it is not listed at all for the 86 VF500F. Speculation is that it is the "Candy Aleutian Blue" Code # PD127C-U from a V45 or VF700 Interceptor.

    Any confirmation on that?

Stray has listed the available "equivalents" somewhere.

Ford Sonic Blue is pretty much perfect, I've sprayed it.

That is really helpful, my local auto paint supply really has problems identifying 80's Honda paints. Good to have an alternative domestic color.

Amazingly there was a mix code on the computer for my 1983 Civic, My guy was able to mix it on the spot. Was a very close match also.

I still suck at painting but I am getting better all the time.

Mix codes are on the cans in this thread Jim, your paint supplier should be able to use that with no trouble. they are all recent

SEAT COVER REPLACEMENT. I forgot how much fun this was. Ugh!

Ugly a$$ seat before...completely crumbling and PINK!

    IMG_9986.JPG
Naked Seat! Had to pry the staples out with a screwdriver and then break them off. Pulled out the stubs with a vice grip. Sharp little buggers. I don't think that is mold on there but I have not died from the fumes yet LOL.

    IMG_9992.JPG

The instructions said to put a plastic bag down before installing the cover. I used a home trash bag. Hope this is correct.

    IMG_9993.JPG
Placed the seat cover on. Very tight fit, no way the clamps are going to hold it in place like the instructions say.

Bake your seat cover in the sun or otherwise, it will go much better....... a pneumatic stapler and a helper would be good too.

Decided that this project was a several day affair. Probably kept me from throwing the seat across the garage. I have it pretty close now, just waiting for the wrinkles to settle down before I do the final stapling.
