All ready to ride (except for road conditions)...
I TRIED to take the Superhawk for a little ride yesterday to see if my road was passable, NOT! (another story) but the main road was fun.
I finally put gas in the tank of this little CBR to check out the new fuel system and get her fired up, just to find gas leaking all over my garage floor!!
Had to take it all apart again to pull the tank, it was coming out of the fuel petcock. Most of you guys would prolly do this but for those of you like me reading this, when you FIRST put gas in a "new" just finished project just try a little to check it and see what happens. DO NOT put like two gallons in thinking its all good!!! I had myself a nice little "situation" there for a minute (more like 10) anyway, you get the picture, I'll let your imagination run with that...
So what I discovered was that the petcock it self was not seated down tight enough to seal thoroughly ? You SHOULD probably replace that seal when rebuilding a whole new fuel delivery system?? I did not, certainly WILL next time!!!
So, got her all back together and put just a little gas in and all is good. Holds fuel, fires up and runs like a raped ape! She is ready for a full tank of no-ethanol 91 and a nice warm, clear day to go experience what a little greybike is all about.

Ah man, I totally get you on the filling the tank. I did that twice with big red until I learned to stop doing that. lol
Any more just replace everything and order everything the first time. Don't dick around trying to save money.
Look forward to some finished picks!

    wha whaaa, fuel delivery issue?
The little bike is cutting out on me then dying! It is definitely intermittent as it will start back up and run fine for a while then it happens again?
I switched the fuel to reserve and worked for a while then put it back to on runs for a while then cuts out?? I was thinking clogged filter but it is fine???
I then suspected fuel pump but it does work although it was getting hot to the touch! Maybe the pump overheats stops working and then comes back on later, I don't know , what do you guys think??
    Some kind of vacuum problem???

I once had a bad RegRec cause havoc with my coils while running. As soon as I applied throttle the bike would stall (outta fuel feeling). It would restart and idle, so I thought I was good and then give it gas and out it goes. Could be a bad RR, but it is a long shot.

    yeah, thanks Rogue!
My first thought was R/R, I got it home and tested at the battery and it is charging 14+ volts?

Rode the piss out of her today to try and check the fuel cap and see if its a vacuum / breather problem, BUT, ran absolutely incredible ?
When I checked the fuel pump, I just pushed the electrical connector firmly together and heard the pump run?
I am thinking that it may have had poor connection because the bike runs incredibly fine now! In fact, I just put fresh tires on, new sprockets (14 T) up front and new chain!! Man this thing is fun!!!
