so i opened up the carbs on my interceptor. i'm no expert on carburetors but something doesnt seem right.

2 of the carbs, (#2 and #4) dont float at all, when i touch the floaters (i think thats what theyre called) they stick to the bottom. They're also not round like the other 2 floaters. here are some pics

the bike was running 2 years ago. before it was stored, it was running but did not seem to have a lot of power, so i decided to start by cleaning out the carbs.

does anyone know what the problem could be, or if these floaters were affecting the performance of the bike?

    You'll definitely need new floats.

If I could make a recommendation, a great tech manual for working on V4 carbs can be found on Mike Nixon's site:

    The Motorcycle Project Book Nook

This is a well written manual that will explain the basics of how the V4 carbs work and how to rebuild them. I would also recommend purchasing a copy of the Factory Service Manual.

For general maintenance, there is also good intel to be found here, from a fellow member on VFRW (a shout out to Toe Cutter)

Good luck and keep us posted.
