I have new to me 97 VFR750F with 40k miles on her. Went to just look when I bought it but she was in beautiful condition. Look at everything 9.5 out of 10. Could find no reason not to buy it. So I left with a new beauty , Had about 6 months. Been sorting through it. Put on Helli bars, new brake pads on rear flushed all fluids and have been riding the crap out of it!!
Was look online for way to lower rear and saw gallery photos of triangle plates. Can you lower rear by rotating plates?? Or are those after market paltes?
I guess thats my 1st. question. Will post up some picts. and have a look around the forums. Thanks.

Welcome to the world of the VFR Zombies. For an 18 year old bike, that looks to be in quite nice shape.

Welcome and I think you will enjoy that bike. I owned a 97' back in 1998 too. I was only able to keep her about 6 months because I was poor and needed to sell it but I loved that bike. Out of all the bikes I have owned, it is still one of my favorites.

    Hey dABIT

Congrats on the purchase and Welcome to the WORLD. That sure is one fine looking example of a 4th gen. I'm sure you will grow to love the bike more and more with every ride.

If you wanted to lower the bike in the back, you could try here.

    http://www.lustracing.co.uk/suspension/honda-lowering-kits.html

One thing to keep in mind with lowering the back of the bike is that you may also need to have the side stand shortened as well.

    Enjoy the bike.

There are several discussions about lowering the 4th gen. Others say that it is not possible by just turning the triangles but this thread says it can be done: http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/37923-1992-VFR750-lowering-help?highlight=lowering . There is another thread I did not find where a guy just drilled new holes to the triangle to lower the bike by 1 inch.

I have the 3rd gen and there are no triangles but the "dog bone" but in that thread above, I described how I did lower mine.

Just came out of garage and tried to rotate plates. You CAN NOT rotate the plates to lower the rear. I tried every combination they hit the link [dogbone] or not enough room for shock it hits the swing arm. Looks like after market plates here I come. Thanks for every ones help.

I'm new myself (6th-gen), but that is a quite gorgeous 4th-gen.

    Congrats! :eagerness:
