    greetings,
has anyone been able to find an acceptable paint for rear linkage? i have been comparing many brands and none appear close. If they are they seem "soft" and not up to the demands needed. I only say that as the steel linkage is beat up but the aluminum shock arm is pretty good shape. the paint has a sheen to it
    thank you in advance

Dupli-Color Wheel Paint and Clear Coat is certainly up to the task. It sprays nice, comes in good colors and is very durable. I use it for nearly all my chassis components, including calipers, brackets and master cylinders, insides of rotors, linkages, triple clamps, etc.

that is great to know! i wondered if it was strong enough. i painted some other pieces with vht univ aluminum and it was very close for fork leg bottoms and radiator grill. its these other pieces that are different and I am trying to get ideas on what others have done or used.

All 86 fork lowers are black. Pictures are needed at this point. (Actually they are always required). :)

A lot of the universal silvers tend to look a little "cheap" for me, but can have their place.

The paint that was used for the arm/linkage Looks like galvanized steel . I know it is not but that is what it reminds me of. So it has a slightly reflective sheen to it oh.

Wander a few paces left or right in the Auto Parts store and look at some of the Dupli-Color made to match some factory automotive finishes. You can find some unique colors that are also very durable.

You have no idea how ironic your pics are. Btw, I didn’t have time to fix that case and now it’s bothering the hell outta me. Good looking bike you got there

I had to blend the shit out of the right case, and I'm sure it's thin. But it's symmetrical and damage "free". Think my damage was more on the "HONDA" and less on that lower edge.

Fix it. Now is the time.

I noticed immediately that you had shave that off and cleaned it up. You did a great job. Thank you for pointing me in the Dupler color direction. I think I may have found a color I’m looking for so I will try it This weekend and see how it comes out. Thank you for the pics too. I now know I also need to scrub a little more. Damnit that thing is clean!
