    Anyone done this?

I’ve got everything out but the f**king clip at the top front, I’ve been struggling with getting the inner to go move

Looks like the oil cooler has to be loosened to get to the clip

I don't know if this helps but it details how to do an oil change and removing the lower cowl is part of the procedure.

    Cheers.

Are you talking about the black inner cowl on the mid part of the fairing? If the clip is one of those button clips, you push the inner part in until you hear a pop, then you should be able to remove it.

I know that’s how it works I’ve got the rest out this one is just really difficult to access

    UPDATE

After careful thought I put an Allen key in a pair of molegrips and first time I touched the centre the clip popped out

However that didn’t free up the middle outer cowl despite having every bolt and clip I could see plus lots I couldn’t ...a summer job after I’ve spoken to someone at Fowlers I think

If I dint have a manual I usually look at the parts fiche.
Is it not in the owners manual as well or is that just the lower cowl.

Thanks Fink I have the service manual which goes in to detail about removing the left middle cowl but not the right

The diagram is clear as mud

Hi Thumbs, are you talking about part #12 in the exploded view? I just took mine off today. I think a long thin rod (e.g. thin phillips screwdriver or pointy chopstick or BBQ skewer) will allow you to access the plastic clip without messing with the oil cooler. There are 3 clips and 1 hex head screw/bolt. #13 on the other side is basically the same, 3 clips and 1 screw/bolt...

Thanks Samuel I got the last clip out and that panel out but the middle cowl still wouldn’t move

There must be another bolt or clip, it’s all back together now and my grandson booked in for a day when it’s warmer

About time he helped his grandad with something other than dispose of my money
