Basically at full lock, one side has about 5 mm gap between the horn switch and the fuel tank, and the right side has approx 10 mm gap between the starter switch and the tank. I'm assuming the left bar is bent (I bent the right already but got a salvaged replacement). Now I've been riding with these bars like this for a long time, however it is bugging me. Could I file off the tabs at the base of the clip on, so that I can rotate the fork up to give the switch clearance and therefore 'straightening' the bars. Would this cause any other problems? I was thinking of getting another bar from ebay but I'd say the majority of salvage parts there are from crashed bikes, so the bars could end up being just as bent.. Have you actually taken the bars off and checked if they are bent? You are aware that the left and right side switch housings are not identical, right? And that they may not be aligned exactly the same on the bars. Never start fixing a problem until you know that there actually is a problem to fix.
