Tyre prssures when heavily loaded

Hi,

I'm looking for advice on what tyre presures I should be running when loaded up with either a pillion or a similar weight of camping gear, circa 65Kg.

I've a fully adjustable Ohlins monoshock with remote preload knob so that's quite easy to change.

My bike is a VFR800 FiX (1999/2000) running T31 Brisgestone tyres.

 

Manufacturers state 36f 42r regardless. Only bmw as far as I know offer different pressures for load conditions.

 

Loaded to the max, I would run 40 psi front, 42 psi rear. That's assuming you'll be a little less
enthusiastic on curvy roads.

 

Agree with 40/42..... 36 isn't enough to me regardless of passenger or not. However, pick the front pressure based on how the bike handles... 38 might be OK.

depends on how loaded you are... I'd run 40 if was carrying 500ibs....
