Looking at that link, it’s going to have to be a couple of elbows and a pump with straight necks,

But I do like trying to fix stuff, so one of these two knackered ones will be coming to bits, and have it’s insides replaced with the guts out of a straight pipe one I bought for $14 off the bay of fleas

Went to Kempton park auto jumble for motorcycles

Nothing of real interest except a set of fully cleaned VF1000F carbs for £80

Didn’t buy them as I have two sets

Did you just visit the show or also put a bike in the display.

It’s not any kind of show, just crate and crates of rusty parts for old British bikes, I
    won’t bother going again

Something my brother and I have chatted about doing for years, now he’s got terminal cancer, we are doing lots of these odd things

Sorry to hear of your bother's diagnosis. Nothing like the brevity of life being thrown in your face to force you to get your prioities in order. You are a good man to prove to him that he is valued and I'm sure that you will not regret the time and effort given to do so.

If you go with the solid state fuel pump, get one with a "positive shut-off valve".

I have found a non working VF1000 pump on the bay of fleas

Just needed the broken points wire fixing, and it’s working and not leaking

Going for a test ride today, if it don’t rain

I have been whizzing about on it for a bit, not too far from home incase it packs up again

But I have noticed a lot of clutch noise, a sort of chattering that goes away when I pull the lever in

Could someone possibly provide some insight if it’s possible to shut it up

Sounds like me when I go the 500 running. Only rode as far as I felt like pushing the bike back LOL.

I am sure someone here knows the cure to your malady.

Yep guessed as much but what’s the fix, is it worth doing or just let it rattle

Done that little fun job, but they have been apart a few times so they might be out of whack again after a settling down period

It floods and smokes a lot on choke so they are probably blocked up again

My VTR1000F had a noisy clutch at idle, so I whipped it out for a look-see. The only thing I found was the clutch damper springs were surprisingly slack and probably the source of the noise. The rest of the clutch (plates and basket) were mint (76000km) so I buttoned it all up and put my mind at rest.

This is what the clutch sounded like when I had it out

Being an F2 Bol, taking the dam fairing off again, I always seem to break a bit
