Just did a cold start video. Did not give her any throttle until well into the warm up stage. Which is how you're supposed to do it anyway.

Seems to settle in at 1,200 RPMs. Gonna get a plate for her tomorrow and start riding her around a bit more before anymore fiddling with the idle.

I'm still on cloud 9 to have scored such a good condition example with such little fanfare!

Need to find a tank "bra" to go with the lift-and-support front bra.

    Quick update on this bike.

Since last update I found and installed a proper Pearl Crescent White fuel tank for her - much better!

This is also the bike that developed a problem with the starter motor clutch that fortunately was an easy fix.

    Thread:
    https://vfrworld.com/threads/starter-motor-clutch-repair-help.62854/

And today, I swapped out the carbs with a rebuilt & synced set I had on the shelf from Joe Nelson/V4 Dreams. The reason I did this is the engine wasn't running smooth under any kind of acceleration and I figured it had to be clogged carb jets.

I didn't want to mess with any carb cleaning today so just did the swap. I can clean the carbs now at my leisure. And it will only be the float bowls - nothing more needed! :)

I still have to reinstall the windscreen after it gets the Novus treatment and finish up the lower fairing repairs, which are almost done. All that will be done this weekend.

    Video and a few pics......

    Carbs from Joe......ooooo.......ahhhhh......:D

MUCH better looking with the correct fuel tank!

I've never sent any out for cleaning. I do that myself.

These were some I bought outright - all ready to go.

It's not about the money - it's about supporting the V4 Dreams website - which has helped me more than words can convey.

But I will keep you in mind if I need any additional help @squirrelman , I know you do good work! ;)

Didn't get the fairings back on today but will tomorrow.

Had to replace one of the front lower brackets which was not only missing - the ABS it attaches to was also missing. Both lower fairings needed quite a bit of patching but they should be OK now, hopefully.

This is before I cut off the rivet legs.....

Making progress on the fairing reinstall. The lowers are back on but some unexpected rain interrupted the operation, for now. I only need to slide the hairpins in at the front bottom and then attach the battery covers. Then the windscreen, which still hasn't been cleaned....but is soaking with wet towels over them.

I did some additional work on the lower fairings this morning - replacing the inside duct inserts so everything is now nice and tight w/no rattles.

I can do this work now very easily, having the right tools and fasteners. I even poured some lubricant into the inserts to help mitigate future corrosion. ;)

They look better on the outside then the inside. My objective was just to repair all cracks and missing pieces with any aesthetic work coming later if desired. The nasty repair on the left lower area was done by someone else. They also removed the slender leg that sticks out but that's hardly noticeable once they are on the bike.

When I got the bike - the lowers were held on at the bottom front with just a cable tie. One bracket was totally missing and so was ABS on both sides. Now they will have the OEM hairpins securing them.

I even used a foaming de-greaser to get the grime and grease out of this part.....
