1991 VFR 750 Cranks but No Start

I’d try blowing low-pressure air (lungs) into the fuel line, first. Listen for air flow.

 

Sounds suss, you running a nurse bottle? no carb synch was spoken about.

 

hey, warren !! i would consider bad synch among the lowest-likely probable causes

 

Could be wildly out of synch Jerry, just some food for thought, I know it comes into play a CH off the throttle and once the bike is on the mains its out of the equation.

 

Two of the float valves are stuck to their respective float bodies. I believe the assembly number is: 16011-MT4-000. Looks like $40 each, if I can find them. Any hints?

 

looks like they are 52.68 - Honda knows how to charge, I bought a fuel line I thought I could not get anymore.

 

thats why i suggested air pressure, to push the needles off their seats----u prob dont need to buy anything, just get in there and inspect float n eedles for deterioration -----clean the n eedle seats with q-tips wetted with solven t-----what u describe is so uncommon that your analysis is likely wrong---also, dont store vfr carbs upside- down----

They were definitely stuck. I soaked them in a jar of Rocket Chemical Company's finest, but they wouldn't budge. I replaced them, and now have fuel in all 4 float bowls. Now it won't crank. Battery seems to be good, and it's fairly new, so I donno, what's next?

 

i guess it never stops, eh ? -----recharge battery to at least 12,6 volts and try again---check fuses and neutral switch--

 

Well, I guess the starter was just "stuck". Once it decided to crank, it stared right up. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend.
