As I said earlier... Dry slide has a 3" needle to get to the bottom pin. It is mostly graphite with a carrier solvent that evaporates. Spray WD-40...
Best for Locks and Cables "Dry Slide". Hard to find but look for it at Gunsmiths and Locksmiths. Has a 3" needle for getting into tight places....

Take the seat off first, with cowl attached. Turn the seat over and look at how the cowl tabs attach to the seat. Once you see it, it should be easy.
Check all wires. Look for signs of heat at the connectors. Did you ever do the VFRness?

Not sure on the VFR but most headlight units have a vent as previously stated. Look for a short piece of rubber hose that may be pinched or turned...
