I looked again at what you wrote. Are you sure it is putting out 12.65 to 12.78 V at idle? I would have expected your voltage to be around...
I think you will be fine. The three different sized wires won't hurt anything. It sounds like you have a good connection at your solder joints....
Very cool!
Ok, I won't comment. doh...
No worries. I wanted to let you know that the supplier seems to be OK. I would definitely take care of the other electrical issues first.
The EGR valve came a few days ago. It was cleaned up an worked just fine. They packaged it well. I would have no problem buying from those...
Nice job. I like it!
One of the previous owners did a real hack job on my '98 rear fender. I like yours a lot better.
Welcome aboard! I never gave the VFR a second look either, until I rode one.
Not all Yamaha R1 R/R's are the same. The 2004-2006 will work, but have huge fins that make them hard to fit. The 2007+ have smaller fins and...
Forgot to mention, your fingers won't alter the readings on this very small resistance check.
I just checked my bike. My meter reads 0.3 - 0.4 ohms when I check resistance to the yellow stator wires. I have a cheap meter. $10 from...
Your meter will work fine. We aren't looking for very small differences here. With the bike OFF, go ahead and cut off the burnt connector for...
You are not the only one that has been confused by this. I was too at one time.
1. Dunno. All the VFRness does is supply a new, heavy harness back the battery from the R/R. The VFR has a fault in the design that when the R/R...
hehe Makes a lot of sense. I got one for you. Back when I first got the '98 I started reading all about the R/R problems so I bought a VFRness...
The yellow wires are AC voltage in 3 phases. There is no order to them, you are fine.
Relocated up front where is can get some air flow too... nice! Your bike is freakin' awesome by the way. :guitar:
From a recent vfR-list discussion... The real solution to fixing the R/R issue to to dump the Honda R/R (because it's junk) and replace it with...
Sweet! Be sure to let us know how that goes.
