Looks like Honda changed the octane rating in 2000 when they changed the fuel injection and did away with the auto enrichener....
How many miles on your bike? Have you ever changed the spark plugs? The manual calls for 87 octane. I have a Yoshi pipe and can tell no difference...

YEP same here...no difference except in my wallet!! Exactly!! Running a higher octane then manufacturer requires does not help a bit.

My 2000 holds pretty tight to 47 mpg normal pace riding. I would think you should get in the 40's unless you are riding the piss out of it.
