I know its a different year, but the service manual for my 87 VFR recommended 15 wt, that's what I used and no problems after 2k more miles...

bikes DO have names! I love something simple, two syllables, AMERICAN. My 87 VFR is named "Heidi"> german, I know, but dude, Heidi Klum is HOTTTT...
