with the vf500 the stock bars a pretty long you could cut them down a fit a set of bar ends on from the picture thats what it looks like that guy...

yea the exhaust is pretty loud as for the clicking at running speeds no i havent notice any but i cant hear anything over the exhaust. listen for...
reason i ask i had mine adjusted by a dealer ship when they where installing the jet kit but the bike is makign a light clciking sound at idle,...
i removed the cable holder to make it easyer to remover the throttle cables but i did touch the idle screw...so you say the idle screw is missing?...
how many shims did you have to add?
