seems like the flat bottom screws might wear less than the round bottom screws that often look flat-spotted.
inspect yours for wear and possibly show photos of any damage.
try switching plugs around or replace the one in the cylinder youve concluded has quit firing. it might be helpful to test pickup coil resistance...

one thing you could try: remove the valve adjusting screws, and check the bottoms for wear and distortion. consider replacing them.

yes. the PO may have installed too-short spacers above the springs.
sprayed-over bolt heads on clutch cover may show rushed, careless work overlooking finer details. :oops: a big turnoff imo, wherever they are.
hacking your bike up like that will cost you alot when you sell it.
theres a spring that presses on the pads with tabs that need to be properly placed. problems if the spring is oriented incorrectly f/r.
without removing carbs you can check boot/clamp possible leakage by spraying WD or carb cleaner [even water] onto each boot while engine is...
