Couldn't you just drain some from the pan? If you drained too much just add back the correct amt.

Yes, even a thin piece of plywood or similar mat. under the rr wheel makes a big difference.
Strike it w/ rubber mallet. Best not to pry if you can avoid it so no damage to gskt. surfaces.
