I think you doubting is correct. The 2000-2001 got the better mirrors too. I replaced my mirrors with some from Emgo. Much better!

Waitwut? Back up a minute here! If this thing is truly a VFR7000, then it should be running LOCOMOTIVE oil.
I tend to agree with the 20w50 in hot climates. I don't think you will have any cold flow issues.
