    The altitude does effect the density of a gas as described in Boyle's Law. Neither are hemispherically dependent.

    Possible to turn/rotate the stock bars?

    If you do not want to file them, you may be able to raise them enough to move them out of the slots. I was able to do that on my 2000 anyway.
