Clearing the sides of the tire's is actually a good idea-some junk could be on it and then if you need the sides of tire will work perfectly.

My guess is the R+G sliders will work up to 25mph, I am talking from experience as my 600 fell down all the time with sliders. no-cut sliders...

No cut sliders are garbage and will break at just about any speed, cut two holes in fairing is all you need with the R+G kit-I have three drops...
