Your bike should easily handle any rough asphalt roads so long as the winter's pot holes are filled with cold pack in a fairly competent manner....
I think the worse case scenario is that your plugs are going to foul but that should burn off in maybe a few minute once you get good gas through....
Yes. That part does cover the hole once the grab handles are removed. But you cannot use them when you have the luggage racks on.
Give it a try. I suspect you will find that hole without the grab handles a little unsightly. Easy enough to switch back if so.
