That is negative bueno on the carbs, they are tricky if you are not used to messing with them. Post a pic of what you have when you can.

You can just unbolt the clutch slave cylinder but you will need to wrap some tape or a zip tie around it as the piston will want to come oot over...

Yes they are, same engine for the most part. The crank shaft and rods are different from 700 to 750.
Like Tink said you need to pin point the leak. If it is the seals you will need to take the carb bodies apart and there are many pitfalls to that...
The fuel cross over tubes are prone to leaking when the seals dry oot, does it stop after it has been run for a while?
