If you don't know when it's been changed, good idea to flush cooling system and refill with fresh stuff. Even a working fan won't cool the bike...

Check the coolant lever under the rad cap when the engine is cool. Replace the thermoswitch on the radiator and/or add a manual switch.
Before riding it you need to check tire pressures ALWAYS, running aboot 36f/40r. Next check charging system output or risk getting stranded....
Helps alot when wrestling with running problems to have at least one new, never used plug to substitute. Deposits that cause plugs to misfire...

Why punish the gears ??? Smooth coordination of clutch and throttle is a riding skill you need to practice. Just slamming the shifter is lazy...
