if you have carbs.........no injectors are on that bike... choke it, one twist before you start it then hit the button..
you can try a muffler shop... they can weld up the hole or rework the rusted out part.. good luck Crusty

I have an 86 but the helmet latch is the seat release as well you jsut have to turn it the opposite direction from unlocking the helmet latches
