inspect the bottoms of the adjusting screws. they were round when new but wear into flat spots which make setting and holding any adjustment...

got the wiring diagram ?? check that you get + 12volts at the proper wire on the plug going to the ign black box. might help to use color codes...

you start by reading the honda service manual first thing. :oops: without studying that you're sure to screw things up and make no progress....
also check oil and cooling system for signs of any milky white deposits that indicate a blown head gasket.
^^ he's right. just clean them by poking a steel wire (,010") through idle jets and blowing out mixture screw passages. dija check the float...
low compression is common from sitting for years, but the #1 problem is valve damage, which can lead to engine failure when the valve drops into...
despite what you say, the choke must be working to start properly unless the bike is already warmed up.
