Can't you press the stems out of the ZX and VFR triples, and press the VFR stem in to the ZX triple? That's how I've always done it.
First I'd check sag front and rear. Lowering the front/raising the rear doesn't help if you've got 60mm rear sag. Get the suspension set first...
