I have the Candy '07 as well purchased new on Oct. '08 and have noticed the smell and was told it was the "Newness" wearing off. I must say, the smell is not that bad. Though, I will miss it once it's gone.
The only problem I have is that it has a slight hesitation at throttle up. Someone told me was the PAIR valve. Will a K&N filter solve this proble or do I need to take other measures?

Congratulations on your new ride! I too just took delivery on a new red 2007 - two weeks ago tomorrow. Just like everyone here has said, that smell is absolutely normal. Enjoy that toasty aroma while it's still present, cause it will be mostly gone by 50 or so miles.

    Where are you located?

    It's near Savannah

I had so many comments on my Viffer. Some compliment the color, other want to know just what the bike is. I had a guy to tell me that "I thought that Honda stopped making the Interceptor".
I guess there are'nt many around here.

A bunch of us are going to have to arrange a meetup. There's sure been a lot of VFR Interceptor purchasing going on in our part of the country lately; not to mention the rest of the US.

No doubt. I do miss miss my home town.
I would have to get a trailer or some ramps to bring her down.
I have not trained myself to ride that long of a distance quite yet.

mine simply says to avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration during the first 500km's..

doesn't seem very "engineer'y" to me :ninja:

    ROFLMAO .. yes.. either..

my point was.. it makes no mention of redline, vtec, or any of the other "interweb experts" must-do-break-in procedures..

just ride it like you usually would with no full throttle starts or rapid accelleration.. and I take that to mean WOT..

My '08 Grey non-abs now has about 140 miles on it and still smells like a new baby

All these awesome pics of the '07 RWB are making me wonder if I made the wrong color choice...bah...the '07 cost the same as my '08 and had another year of pre-paid depreciation...

Maybe at some point I will swap plastic for the '07 RWB set...*wandersofftoponder*

Its not either, its just adaquate. Im used to my 08 Gixxer 750 so, the VFR definately feels slower but its not bad.

I'd love to hear more from you on a comparison of the two bikes. I looked at the 750 briefly (but didn't ride one) when I was finalizing my choice of the Daytona 675. I did a write up of my 675 in VFRW if you are interested.

I ride both pretty regularly the Daytona is alot less comfortable then my 750 anything more then 1 hr straight or sitting in traffic my bums and wrist starts to get sore. My 750 I can ride 5+ hours staight no problem.
