It should be a bitchin ride Capt! Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I borrowed a VTR250 to get my Kali moto license. My friends made fun of me, but I was the first to have a license by 2 yrs cause they couldn't get their 600s around the DMV course. Slight sentimental attachment to the little guy. lol

We used to have a tiered license system in WA. They did away with it years ago and when my Dad was getting his endorsement to ride his 86 VFR I gave him, I lent him our NX125 for the parking lot test (which they also don't do anymore). Needless to say, it was easy as shit on that bike.

 

I passed my motorcycle endorsement test here in Florida riding my first Interceptor. The Yellow '87 VFR700F2. It was held at the parking lot adjacent to the Daytona Beach Police Dept. As I recall, it wasn't super difficult - but you definitely needed to be able to handle turns, stops, and starts on your bike!

This was back in '96-97. I don't know how they do it now.....

 

I don't recall a lot about the riding exam, although I do remember one guy going full WOT across the whole parking lot, up a steep embankment, and full speed into a chain link fence. "Pull the clutch and let off the gas" didn't sink in, I guess.

The big thing I remember was the tone of the instructor. He said "If you are in an accident, it is your fault." That always stuck with me, and keeps me doing everything I can to not be in harm's way.

 

In WA you have to take (and pay for) a weekend class and upon passing you take the paperwork to the DMV to pay for the "Endorsement".

I like the system. And the classes are good. They can take somebody that has some hand/eye/foot skills and desire with no experience, from a non rider to acceptably proficient.

 

Most people round here go through the CHP class. Same result you spoke of. My son completed that two summers ago and then was at Seca passing on the outside of Rainey curve 1 month later. Proud dad moment since I was following to give him feedback on my NSR250.

Eliminated the stock turn signal mounts and installed some LED bullet running lights in the tubing section at the end.



Freshened up cockpit is a bit tidier looking. Adjustable preload caps when I installed the YSS PD Valves.

The turn signals are now integrated into the taillight courtesy of a JDM VTZ250.

 

Damn......that looks unreal! I mean I'm an "ass man" anyway but even that plate is super cool!

There are some countries that do better with the current tariff situation. We are are not one of them.

The turn signals and taillight shown above were ordered days before restrictions were enacted. I waited to ship them after getting an option to pause (but not refund) and see if cooler heads would prevail. Um, nope. Those were very expensive pieces by the time I got them. And then they were even more expensive when I got the FedEx bill a few weeks later.

Terry S does pretty good where he lives I believe (Auckland, New Zealand).
