I booked 2 rooms @ the Monterey Beach Hotel - thurs fri sat nights.
Looking at Holiday Inn Express in Marina....that is a straight shot to the track; but a ways from Cannery Row if yer gonna be drinkin' much.

Prices are high, but not stoopid high yet. $200 - $220 per night.

Anybody want to look at turn 3 hospitality suite seating?
    buy a few seats together?
2010 may be Rossi's last year.........

    reg........Brian has your brackets.......

    hospitality seats?

    rossi's last year?

    [/quote]

yeah, thanks a lot. he dropped them off already but I think he forgot or at least didn't take the time to remove the ones for the other bikes I had. I have the brackets to mount to a 6g and he has a wing rack so we could almost put together a set for a 6g bike. He even has at least one bag extra.

pure speculation on my part.......he is signed w/ Yami thru the next season (2010). then who knows. I know he likes the touring cars; and although he has spent some time in an F1 Ferrrari, i think his option to drive for them may have passed - unless Massa / Schumi....aw, who knows.

Did't mean to start the silly season so soon, just figger he won't be riding MotoGP 4ever, and boy is he entertaining  to watch. And Laguna Seca is a Nice Venue.

    dunno.
in years past it's been from $350 - $500. depends on location (which turn) & exactly what's included......hot pit access, parade lap, etc.....
Last year they had "a few spots left" for quite some time. May be some reduced price packages available this coming year.

if you add up what it costs for all your entrances & food & beverages to just "go to the show", this is still a little bit more.

but boy what a sweet deal. it's all taken care of for you. you basically just have to show up, and you get all the food & drink you need; a place to stash your stuff; shade; TV coverage, and a chair close to the track. you also get to get "inside" the pits [kinda] & see some of the mechanical activity. you can stroll to any part of the track if you want.
I've done the parade lap a couple times - figgered "sure i'll idle around the track.....big deal"
 got up to 120mph on the front straight & have a TOTALLY new appreciation for the corkscrew & the blind approach to it; and turn 2 - 180 degrees. quite the experiance. If you haven't ridden a lap around Laguna Seca, I recommend this.

In years past I was on the "exisiting customer list" and got advanced purchase options. I didn't go this year, so for 2010, I'll probably just be a schlub. Once the tix are offered to the cool guys who went last year, i'll get to order mine. I have had seats in turn 4 & the striaght between 3 & 4. I got in to look at the seats in turn 3 & that would be my first choice. From there, you can see the exit from 2 (the hairpin), turn 3, the straight to 4 & part of 4. then you can stand up & i think you can see 10....or parts of it. course there is always TV to see anything beyound your relm.

If there is a 1/2 dozen to 10 or 12 who may be interested, I would gladly chase down the options & keep folks posted. maybe we get a deal for quantity.
I'll check in at the track tomorrow & see what they know for next year. Probably not much at this time.

    10-4.
    beer wine & water.......coffee too.
saturday & sunday only. starts about 11- 11:30.
bottled beer...was like corona & heinekin or similar.
all you can drink or smuggle out.
you can really put a dent in the "excess cost issue" with this item.

"honey, i found a way to save a whole bunch of money on the MotoGP trip this year.........."
